CAPKR is an internationally leading centre of excellence in applied pharmacokinetic research. Research focuses on using Physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modelling, in vitro to in vivo extrapolation and population pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modelling techniques to aid prediction and simulation of drug behaviour in patients- both from an efficacy and safety perspective. The integrated use of Modelling and simulation techniques enables behaviour to be predicted even when there may be very limited empirical data available in a specific disease population.

CAPKR originated as a consortium in partnership with pharmaceutical companies and this industrial collaboration remains a focus of world leading research towards translating predictive methodologies into industrial practices.
